DESIGN STUDIO I

Design Studio I is a module that introduces the idea of architecture design. The aim of this module are mainly focusing on 'self' and 'body' design, and brings the idea into space and form. The importance of expression and imagination is brought out through the projects and assignments, and we may learn about the space design and creativity thinking by a series of study models and sketches.

In Design Studio I, the projects are given through the entire module which included:

1.Project 1 - Representing 'ME'

2.Project 2 - "Me in Space'

3.Final Project - 'Space for the Self'

From the whole module, I was confused and lost at the very beginning of the course. When I walked through all the projects I had done, I realised I grew up to learn how the connection between spaces and ideas work, what the is relationship between 'space', 'self' and 'body', they work in one group, but not individually. There is nothing consists 'space' but no 'self' and 'body', and vice versa. I learned how to convert my personal characteristic to an idea that is used to create an unique space, the space that represents 'me'. Every design contains a meaning which is represented from the idea and concept of the design, in other words, everything is designed with a representative meaning, but not only just for decoration.
