PROJECT 1
RE: Play – Children’s Outdoor Playscape
Objective:
1. To develop awareness of environmental sustainability in architectural design.
2. To develop the student’s ability to meet the imperative and inter-related environmental and social needs, as well as make poetry with materials and spaces.
3. To further develop understandings on human scale, proportion, ergonomics and materiality
For this project, we are grouped in 3, investigate a design of playscape which is suitable for the user at the ages between 7-14. The design should be in lightweight as well as safe with all mechanisms being simple and easy to operate. The main materials for its construction are reclaimable and repurposed materials and reasonably weather proof. It must be able to accommodate and support a set of proposed activities designed to instill among children not only a sense of play or exploration but also the appreciation of sustainability through the application of reusable materials.
Final Submission:
1.2 A1 boards.
2. Model in appropriate scale

Reflection
From this project, I had learnt to analysis the structural design for playscape. It is necessary to consider the material used and safety issues in passive design of a structure to certain range of user. I had learnt to decide the suitability of the structural height and form of design for targeted users.
