PROJECT 2
Proposal for Adaptive Reuse
Objective:
This project will require students to propose for a potential new usage for an existing old historical building. It will require students to investigate and observe the practices and approaches on architecture conservation in Malaysia. Students may use previous measured drawings exercise as their building for this project and propose the most suitable new usage of the building by taking into consideration on the site context, historical significance, surrounding culture, building defects and any form of architectural detailing on that particular chosen building.
We are given the following tasks and make a report:
1. Preliminary investigation (building owner, historical, architectural and social background)
2. To conduct a dilapidation survey (on the selected historical building)
3. Information compilation from task 1 & 2.
4. To propose for adaptive reuse for conservation.
Final Submission:
1. an A3 bounded report
2. Oral presentation
